Something not right with this story

If his weapon was properly holstered how could she have caused it to fire? I'll presume they were standing, so unless it was a  shoulder holster how did the round strike her lung then heart?

Update:
I'm not the only one having doubt's that this went down, the way the police said it did

another:

How does a gun pointed at the floor shoot someone in the heart?

I thought the same thing... I ran a dozen scenarios through my mind... it hit her in the chest and lung... I wondered if it was a gun holstered horizontally in a shoulder rig... but how does the trigger get depress... hmmmm...

Just saw a story that said it was in a "soft" holster on the officer's waist, and according to the chief of Detroit PD, there was some "manipulation" at the officer's waistband...not done by the officer. Sounds like maybe she felt his gun and was messing around with it, trying to take it or something. That's all I can come up with given the information available...
