46 guns, 13,000 ammo rounds found during raid
That's not so much, like 280 rounds per gun, and only 46 guns?

Please allow me to respond to your email regarding our "No Gun Policy" posted at our Princeton Pike (Hamilton, Ohio) location. I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. At this time, for the safety of our customers as well as our employees, PNC Bank currently has a "No Gun Policy" for all PNC Bank branches. I am sorry to read that you feel it necessary to close your accounts if this is our policy. While we do not like to lose our account holders, the safety of our customers and employees is a primary concern at our PNC Bank facilities. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify our position in this matter.
Sincerely,

Mr. Burkhart,
I will respect your signs, but I will move my business, and as a Firearms Instructor will advise my students of your policy. Has PNC had any incidents with firearms, by license holders? Studies have been done, by the federal government, that criminals, and active shooter types prefer posted properties. There by posting your properties has made your locations unsafe, there is no security in the parking area, or in the bank, so you have in fact created an unsafe environment for both your employees, and customers. I assure you I will be moving my acounts as soon as possible. One last item, if you going to post, post signs large enough to be seen, the first time I entered the Princeton Pike Location, I looked, and did not see the sign, on exiting I spotted it.
Good day sir,
So I know what I'll be doing in the morning

Follow up email to anti gun PNC Bank
Mr. Benner,
I'm sure there will no issues changing my checking account to another bank, is there anything special I need to do to remove, my IRA?
Also I forwarded your email to my girlfriend and she will be moving her accounts also.
I'm really sure that criminals will honor those signs too, so much for safety and security of your customers, and employees, also you have not made a request, you have by law prohibited us from entering your business.
I have one further request, if you are going to post your property, put up a big enough sign it can be seen!, The first time I entered I did not see until I was exiting the bank. Are you trying to entrapped your customers into illegal acts?
Hope you'll get back on me concerning my IRA account.

The $70 million house, expected to be finished at the end of 2011, will have a gymnasium the size of a regular Perth house, a beauty salon, an observatory, parking for 17 cars and a swimming pool 10 times bigger than the average back yard.

Bank Issues
Buckeye Firearms has an article about getting "No Guns" signs down.
I was a long time customer with National City Bank, they were bought last year by PNC Bank.
Now for the most part I can go to the same branch I always did, everything is the same other than the name, but PNC does have an office closer to me. I visited that branch earlier this month, and on my way out I saw the sign on the door, it was one of those decal see through type, and I had not noted it when I entered the building. When I got home I contacted PNC customer service about the sign by email, that was March 11th,
I returned to the branch March 17th sign still there, but I thought I would give them some time to respond, but on the way home stopped at a First Bank which is closer to me, and they have no sign barring licensed CCW holders.
So I went in and talked to the manager, and checked into opening accounts there.
I still have not gotten an answer from PNC, and will not be able to make it back to that branch before the middle of next week, I have contacted them again. But if the sign is still up, I will be moving my checking, savings, IRA, and if possible my loan to First Bank.
Can't support a business that deprives those of their civil rights.

Have gotten calls from 2 different FFL dealers, each has had a customer that did not know the difference between a revolver, and a semi-auto, and both had sat through a 12 hour Ohio CHL course, not mine, mind you. But both had attended the same Instructors class, what is he doing?, putting them to sleep?

Fact: Many of the countries with the strictest gun control have the highest rates of violent crime. Australia and England, which have virtually banned gun ownership, have the highest rates of robbery, sexual assault and assault with force of the top 17 industrialized countries.
Fact: Though the number of firearms owned by private citizens has been increasing steadily since 1970, the overall rate of homicides and suicides has not risen. There is no correlation between the availability of firearms and the rates of homicide and suicide in America.
Fact: Every year, people in the United States use guns to defend themselves against criminals an estimated 2.5 million times – more than 6,500 people a day, or once every 13 seconds. Of these instances, 15.6 percent of the people using firearms defensively stated that they “almost certainly” saved their lives by doing so

Sighted fire vs. Point shooting
I agree, one should learn the skills of retention, point, center axis alignment, and sighted fire, to help one fill any application. So it is not a matter of one vs the other, just thatone skill may work better in a given application
But many do not understand proper point shooting, the gun must be in line of sight, so the brain can reference both the gun, and the target.

The meaning of "Well Regulated" ?
They could, individually, or in concert, "well regulate"themselves; that is, they could train to shoot accurately and to learn the basics of military tactics.
This interpretation is in keeping with English usage of the time, which included within the meaning of the verb "regulate" the concept of self-regulation or self-control (as it does still to this day). The concept that the people retained the right to self-regulate their local militia groups (or regulate themselves as individual militia members) is entirely consistent with the Framers' use of the indefinite article "a" in the phrase "A well regulated Militia."

Vetting a Trainer
Nothing Like the Real Thing
For civilians, do some digging around, ask for references, If they make claims like, *"Former SWAT", or **"I'm a retired Federal Agent", " ***I was Special Forces" ask for proof. If they can't produce it be wary, your money is hard enough to come by, without taking training from a braggart, and the quality of the training may well be suspect. Quality trainers don't mine producing qualifications, it's not a boost, it's a statement.
*Ran into this guy, but found out he was never a cop, let alone SWAT
** This guy worked as janitor for a company that did contract work for the feds, so he was an"agent", even carries & shows his retired Federal Agent Badge to people
***Stated he was a former SEAL, Green Berets in the reserves, and a former Deputy Sheriff, he may have been in the Navy, but the rest proved false

In a decision that outraged many gun rights supporters, The Brits that owned Smith & Wesson signed an unprecedented agreement with the Clinton administration to, among other things, include safety locks with all of its handguns to make them more childproof; in return, the agreement called for federal, state and city lawsuits against the gun maker to be dropped.
They later sold it for pennies on the dollar, and S&W is now owned by Americans.

Big Whoop
Two guns used in high-profile shootings this year at the Pentagon and a Las Vegas courthouse both came from the same unlikely place: the police and court system of Memphis, Tenn.
Law enforcement officials told The Associated Press that both guns were once seized in criminal cases in Memphis. The officials described how the weapons made their separate ways from an evidence vault to gun dealers and to the shooters
The guns went into the system of FFL dealers, record keeping, background checks etc etc, so what that they were LE surplus guns, it wasn't like the cops were out on street corners selling them out of the trunk of a cruiser.
Appears these guns dropped out of system completely

ALSO, contact Jim BEFORE you go out and buy a knife, especially if you are buying one to use in this course. You can spend a lot of money on a knife (Jim knows, he has and still does!) but there are good choices that are less expensive and work well. We highly recommend that you get/have a MANUAL knife with a THUMB STUD when first learning as they are the easiest to open, properly grip and use (besides being legal in the most states!).

The debate over point shooting vs. sighted fire rages on, and, admittedly, I don’t see a big difference between the two. Why? Because it’s body manipulation that aims the pistol, not the eyes!

Open versus Concealed
Charlton Heston, the actor and former president of the National Rifle Association, used to say that the flock is safer when the wolves cannot tell the difference between the lions and the lambs.
For me personally I prefer concealed, I do see both sides, and especially in places like Cali where CCW is nearly non existent it is the only choice they have, in Ohio there were several open carry get together's,and were in part what lead to Ohio passing a concealed carry law

Are Police Officers Being Targeted?
Nationally last year, 125 officers were killed, the lowest number since 1959. Already this year, 34 officers have been killed in the line of duty in shootings and traffic fatalities, including three in California in the past week. That is more than double the rate of slain peace officers in the same period last year.

Ending gun violence doesn’t start with guns
So the gun violence existed before the ban on handguns and has continued after the ban on handguns. It would seem homicides involving these weapons have nothing to do with the weapons at all.

City gun ordinances proved to be a failure
Maybe that's because there were so many flaws in the basic idea. Or maybe it was because strict gun control makes even less sense at the municipal level than it does on a broader scale. At any rate, the policy turned out to be a comprehensive dud.

Chaparrel Arms
Anyone know anything about them quality etc? Accuracy?
I know they are Italian, and the Italian rifles vary in quality, I've heard good things about Uberti, and Pedersoli, but can't find much on the Chaparrel brand.
But I do have a chance to get one at a pretty good price, so if anyone knows anything, or knows someone that might know something, drop a comment.
