Even people wearing seat-belts die.

I'm sure the control crowd will pick up on this, and banter how even the military can't defend itself with handguns. Also just because you are in the military does not make you proficient with a handgun, I think the general public  would be surprised at how little small arms training the majority of our military  actually get, In most cases there is more emphasis on proper boot polish, than the workings of the M9.

Yep.
Just ask my daughter.
Oh wait, you can't!
:-(

AND, I almost did...

There are no guarantees!

Like anything else involving the RKBA, we don't have to show that defenders being allowed to choose to exercise their right to defend themselves makes a given scenario _better_.

To even have credibility to criticize expanding carry, the anti's have to show that defenders having that ability to choose makes such situations _worse_ an overwhelmingly high percentage of the time.

They can't even meet that standard, as defending shooters causing unintended injury are so uncommon as to be notable when they do occur.

How hard would it be for the military to train the recruiters in pistolcraft before they're posted to the recruiting center? Make it part of the requirement for the posting that they have to be trained beforehand and requalify every 3 or 6 months.

Al,

They often run deploying troops through a shooting package, running recruiters through a package at recruiting school, then requiring regular re-quals etc with MTT's, just as you suggest, shouldn't be difficult

For all we know the return fire was effective.
Maybe Mohammed Aziz (piss be upon him) broke off his attack after receiving inbound fire. Perhaps that's the reason there weren't more people shot.
