Interesting info

They wouldn't lie

Would they?

They hope you are dumber than them

We elect stupid people, Mayor calls for stronger gun laws, if we were to follow his  logic, or lack of, all those places that have weak gun laws, that enable the violence in his city, should just be awash, in stacked and smelly corpses.

I'd think, which is something they not doing, that all those places with "weak" gun laws are much less violent , than all those places which have all those strict control laws.  Of course the mayor has to do something, so like a parrot he comes out shifts blame to the rest of the country.  In truth he really does not care, and the large majority are criminals, killed by other criminals. Yes to many they are children, teenagers, and by age they are that, but they are also gangsters, and the younger they are, the more violent they will be to gain rank in the gang.

Chicago does not have a gun problem, they have a gang problem, and even if you magically could remove all the illegal guns in the city, they would still kill the hell out of each other, with knives, clubs, even rocks, in that event I'd think the homicide rate would climb, as gun shots attract attention, and people like police and EMT;s tend to show up and pick up the wounded, on the other hand knives are pretty quiet.

They may have gun control

But crime control seems lacking

So which is it?

Declining or growing?

One of the real issues I see with the VPC showing decline in the percentage is they did not factor in that the population increased 50%, from around 2 million to 3 million,  Now according to this site
In 1973 there were 68,251,000 households gun ownership according to the VPC was 48% so net was 32,760,000 households had guns. In 2014 there were 123,229,000 households VPC says 33% own guns, net 40,667,000. So  even if there has been a percentage drop, the overall number has grown, by 25%

Also we have to bear in mind unknown people contacting gun owners by phone or even coming to your door, many are not going to be forthcoming about owning or how many guns they own.

The turns and twists, and failure of Colt

Most of the time they shot themselves in the foot, it wasn't their products, but their marketing.

Slide release vs

Slingshot

I usually run 1911's and do both methods On a 1911 it is a slide release, on many newer guns it is a slide stop, and it is flat and small, and can sometimes be hard to hit, when your hands are cold or wet, so slingshot works best,

Police dept

Find their Glocks have cracked

Ensuring

Curious  question: How much do you pay per year in health, house and car insurance? Just answer to yourself, now I realize that most states require at least liability insurance to drive, and all banks require insurance if you have a loan on it. So let me further ask would you carry medical, car or home insurance if you were not required to? Would you be willing to play the odds, that you won't have an accident, and no harm will ever come to your home, or your body? Are you willing to bet that someone else won't have an accident that involves you?
Now how many hours of your time did you invest to make those insurance payments? Best figure net not gross. How many hours and how much money have you spent on the odds that you might get T-boned or lightening would strike and burn your house down, or if you found you had cancer?
So what about self defense insurance?, I'm not talking about the many programs that render legal aid after the encounter, if you have invested in one of those programs, I'm talking about making it through the actual encounter.
You may ask what foolishness there are no insurance programs for surviving an assault. I'll counter yes there are and it is called training.  I'm not talking about going to the range and calmly putting rounds on paper, I'm talking about going to a class where you'll have to push, you'll be challenged. Where you'll come out more prepared and skilled than where you are now.
If your response is well I applied for my CCW license and bought a gun, some will even say I took a basic class and got my CCW what else do I need? How many of you were prepared to drive in rush hour traffic after one driving lesson? C'mon Really?
You might counter you don't need training, might even recite the story of Grandma Smith shooting a bad guy that broke in, and Grandma had only shot a gun once in her life. Without a lot of effort I can likely find another dozen Grandmas that had only been to a range once and were found strangled or beaten to death in their homes.
So call it a life policy, what are you willing to spend to stay alive?

So actual training will take both an investment of your time and resources, I will say in closing I got a lot more out of writing checks to other instructors, than I ever got out of writing a check for the home owners policy.

Training

Takes time, effort and resources now, so you can fight later. What are you investing in your future?

Stop touching it!

Also, put it in a holster! I really bet the trip to the hospital cost more than a good class, and holster combined.

Bad week, Good! week

Started out my big printer wouldn't accept a new drum or old drum for that matter, and none of the instructions or trouble shooting charts would fix it, granted it is going on 7 years old, but in doing some searches, found it to be a software issue, and was able to correct in seconds after getting the information to fix it. Then Tuesday the lawn service called with repair estimate for my riding mower, and it was going to cost several hundred to just get it running, let alone getting it fully repaired, and granted it was also going on 7 years old, and seen some rough use, I didn't want to spend nearly what I'd paid for it to get it up to par, having spent half what it cost 2 mowing seasons ago. Now seven years ago I was working full time, and training part time. But for the past seven years training has been a full time job, and as being self employed it can be thin as well as flush. It has been pretty thin for a while, a couple of surges in March, but mostly on the thin side.

People really do not want to stand in knee deep grass to take a class, and I do think it looks more professional to have a neatly trimmed range.

So I was scrambling trying to find a solution, well last night a very special friend came to the rescue.
Guess I'm doing something right, Thank you LKM, I owe you!

Pretty cool product

I'll need to check these out
