Need a bigger AC unit
Classroom is approx 20x20 and have a 5000 BTU & 8000 BTU installed, with 11 people it got a bit more than stuffy today

One surprise comes in the area of guns. The public is split down the middle on the need for more gun safety laws, but 72 percent backed an absolute right to self-defense, even if that means using deadly force. Growing percentages oppose any outright bans on handgun ownership, with 64 percent in opposition, up from 51 percent in 1980, though there are doubts about concealed handguns.

On Contempt charges by the GOP
Again the tried old "let's blame Bush" lament
Now at least when it was done under Bush, 3 things happened, 1. they informed the Mexican Government they were doing it, 2. They tried to add electronic trackers, to well actually track the weapons. 3. When that failed the entire program was shut down.
Later with Obama in office the program is restarted without informing the Mexicans, without any means of tracking the weapons until they show up at a crime scene, and continued until they are caught with their hands in the cookie jar.
Now why restart a program with fewer safe guards than a previous failure, unless you have your own agenda?
Now if the whole thing were rogue agents acting on their own, Holder could have proved that over a year ago, but instead denials, and side stepping, until he is in the corner, that it really did come down from above, and Executive Privilege only counts if the President/Whitehouse were also involved.
I for one agree with the NRA, it was a lesson Clinton learned in 94, when he lost the House and the Senate.

I wouldn't accept "democratic decision-making"

NRA was started 1871 right here in New York state. It was started by some Yankee generals who didn't like the way my Southern boys had the ability to shoot in what we call the 'War of Northern Aggression.' Now y'all might call it the Civil War, but we call it the 'War of Northern Aggression' down south. But that was the very reason that they started the National Rifle Association, was to teach and train the civilian in the use of the standard military firearm and I am one who still feel very strongly that that is one of our greatest charges that we can have today, is to train the civilian in the use of the standard military firearm so when they have to fight for their country, they're ready to do it. Also, when they're ready to fight tyranny, they're ready to do it. Also, when they're ready to fight tyranny, they have the wherewithal and the weapons to do it. I charge you ladies and gentlemen that that is a very important charge for all of us to take up. It's a sacred duty for all of us to maintain. We've received it from our ancestors. You think about the War of Independence. You think about Valley Forge ... And they defeated the most powerful military force known to that time in civilization.

Just got back from Utah
At dark o'thirty this morning, left Friday afternoon to go renew my Utah Instructor Certification, normal bogging should resume tomorrow, it is good there is a spell check here or this would be unreadable, I had about 5 hour sleep over the last two nights, and dam getting older sucks

I'm a bit speechless at the stupidity
The defense claims the two would regularly dry-fire the guns at each other (pull the trigger without ammo) and had done it that night.

So is the election or some of the new shows, like American Guns, Top Shot etc or a combination of both?
If it is the election then things will likely slow down in November, but if the TV has made guns cool and the "Hot" new thing to do then the wave of sales may well continue, at least till the next hot new thing shows up.

From the article I will assume it was a Glock, now we can't blame the booger hook on this one, Glock's do have to be de-cocked to take apart. How about not following instructions? All the Glock manuals I've seen show to grasp the take down tabs from beneath the firearm, but how many people do you see grasp the tabs from the top?
Which leaves some part of the hand in front of what? Muzzle you say? You are correct!

Forget 9 vs 45!!
Let's make it 1911 vs 1911
The first video starts with them loading the gun with their strong hand, if you want to impress me, at the very least show you know how to handle a gun. Then continue to stuff your booger hook on the bang switch, With pistol and rifles we shoot for groups, not patterns, 11 million rounds?
The 2nd video was a hoot, bad stances, grips, and at the 40 second mark, that anticipation on the trigger.

Defensive Pistol
The NRA Defensive Pistol Course is conducted by a select group of NRA Advanced Pistol Instructors. The training will focus on technique and the development of a defensive mindset. The goal of the course will be to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence. Upon successful completion of this training student's should be able to demonstrate the following: • How the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling are applied to concealed carry • Basic principles of concealment • Presenting a pistol - reholster • Mental awareness • Mental preparation to develop a defensive mindset for carrying and using a pistol for personal protection • Techniques for avoiding life-threatening confrontations • Explain the psychological and physiological changes that may occur during an attack • Flash sight picture • Reloading under stress • Clear common stoppages ... and more

Authorities seized about 125 guns stashed inside a prison following a standoff between armed inmates and troops that ended more than two weeks ago, Venezuela's prisons chief said Sunday. Varela said at a news conference that the weaponry recovered included handguns, shotguns, one submachine gun, one telescopic sight, 27 explosive devices and more than 64,000 rounds of ammunition.
