The Perfect Day
The Perfect Day and Our Terrorist Opponents Possible Plans for Future Attacks

I have been told (by those conducting interviews with captured enemy combatants) that when we ask them “What is coming next?” they sometimes refer to the “Perfect Day.” You cannot understand what they are talking about if you do not understand the historical reference.
The Sepoy Mutiny in India, in 1857, is an example of a Perfect Day. This was a spontaneous uprising by Muslims (and Hindus), with everyone giving the British their “best shot.” Nannies killed the kids, cooks poisoned the food, and shop owners murdered the British ladies as they came into the shop. And soldiers (sometimes complete units) killed their British officers and then used their weapons to attack the British.
The current politically correct term for the Sepoy Mutiny is “The First Indian Re- bellion.” (You can look it up on Wikipedia, where the event has been completely PC filtered and revised.)
The First Indian Rebellion is, to them, George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and the Alamo all rolled into one. And 99% of Westerners have never heard about it.
In their dreams and fond imaginations, this is what will happen across all of the “Crusader nations” who are in Afghanistan. Pick a day, and everyone gives it their best shot. If just one in 1,000 of the Islamic people in our nations answer the call to Jihad, it will still be thousands of attackers ... Some will opt for a “John Muhammad/Malvo,” whacking people from the trunks of cars, others for a Virginia Tech lone gun- man in the school. Others will attack school buses, nannies will kill the kids, clerks will kill customers, cooks (in the elementary school?) will poison the Kool-aid, etc., etc.
The enemy thinks big, and we—with wishful thinking compounded by ignorance of their history—keep thinking small. The goal of this Perfect Day, in addition to terror, is to make us imprison (intern) our Islamic populations (as we did to the Japanese in WWII), thus making this a “war against Islam” instead of the current war against ter- rorist groups and Islamist fundamentalists.
The idea of the Perfect Day goes way back in their culture. Look at the Book of Esther in the Bible. It takes place in Iran (ancient Persia), where the Jews are in captivity. Haman gets permission to kill all the Jews on a certain day. The whole book is about how they turned that around and killed all of Haman’s people on that day.
This is the terrorists’ dream. Our goal is to prevent it through careful study and understanding of their history and culture, assimilation (the French are an excellent example of what not to do in this area), and—most importantly—deterrence and de- tection, which is what I teach in my classes.
The enemy can be deterred! They fear one thing: They fear failure! They are not afraid to die; some of them want to die. But they desperately do not want to die for nothing! And our goal is to win a battle in the minds of millions of potential terrorists in our nation, who are asking the key questions: Can I succeed? Can I get a body count?
The key question we should ask is, Why don’t they do this to Israel? The answer is
that the terrorists would love to! But Israel is an armed society. The terrorist is largely deterred from this action by Israel’s level of preparation. Until we reach the level of armed citizenry represented by Israel (and the sooner the better!) we are very vulner- able to this kind of attack.
In particular, we can see that states like Illinois and Wisconsin (the only two states with absolutely no concealed carry for anyone, anyhow, ever), or California, Massachusetts, and others (with very stringent and limited concealed-carry laws) are the most likely targets for this kind of attack.
The time may come when, like Israel, we need armed riders on every school bus and armed guards in every school and every day-care center. And the only way that we can do so is, like Israel, to depend on armed citizens and armed teachers to protect their children.
The millions of Americans who are buying guns are not foolish. I would submit that they are doing the one thing that individual citizens can do, and that is to arm themselves.
This is America. When faced with a threat, we don’t take away rights; we give you more rights! But with rights come responsibilities. We give you the right to purchase and carry weapons, and you have the responsibility to train with these weapons!
So, let me conclude with a series of quotes from national leaders who have been in similar circumstances.

Being unarmed was considered negligent! Self protection was not just a personal responsibility, it was a duty to the community! A century and a half later, those people were the leaders of the armed rebellion that created the United States!

So I have to ask

How would a no guns policy have stopped Charles Whitman that day?
Also weren't there a number of armed citizens that kept him pinned down, and unable to shoot more innocent people? Those that shot at him that day in 66 severely limited his options
The large majority of active shooters are stopped by a bullet, ether their own, or by someone else's.
Didn't an armed citizen go with law enforcement to the roof top to stop the sniper?
Shooting them or trying to shoot them gives them something else to worry about other than a high score.

A Nation of Pansies
Even poor Barky was a Target
Well there was a day when you could make a choice ether wimp out and hide or fight back, now we want to pass laws that will control bullying.
I was like 7 got home from school crying that I wanted my older brother to beat a guy up that was mean to me, he told me I had to stand up for myself, so the next day when I got off the bus, I had a split lip, and a black eye, but you know what happened? The guy never bothered me again.
Most bullies are bullies because they are afraid, and when you stand up to them, and let them know you are not afraid they back down.
I truly think letting kids settle things themselves, behind the school would make for better adults. There are times fighting is needed to settle a problem.
It may be old fashioned, but it has worked for a very long time.
You could tell the teacher, or your parents, you could run, but it was truly fulfilling watching their eyes bulge out, when you punched them in the throat.
"John Bernard Books: I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."

This is not something to teach in a entry level class, they would have enough going on just learning to draw properly, ya can't learn it all in one day with a limited amount of rangetime.

Unless found at a crime scene, or seized by Mexican authorities, there was no way ATF could track guns into a foreign country where they have no jurisdiction, whoever conceived this idea should be sent to the border at 2 am with a bean bag gun

It will support the goals of ATF, to enhance the agencys budget and power to stem the illegal flow of firearms to Mexico and combat firearms trafficking in the United States.”

But when you look at the CDC numbers (2010) children are all the way up to 24 years old.
Now excuse me at 18 you are an adult, yes a young adult, but you can vote, join the military, at 21 your are a full fledged adult , and can now drink legally and buy a handgun legally.
12-13 are the prime ages kids start joining gangs which is a bit more than playing cops and robbers on the corner, and while they may still be classified as children, they are nothing more than violent thugs.
Very few of the violent childhood deaths are truly innocent children, and yes even a few are tragic, but more laws will not make them more safe

Just because you've watched CSI Maimi does not mean you know how to handle a gun. (really if that is where you learned how to handle a gun, you do not know how to handle a gun)

This past weekend
Attended the Warrior-Summit in Akron Ohio
They offered 4 courses with 3 instructors.
The Offensive unarmed combat was perhaps the most intense, with jabs, elbows, kicks, and knees, and how to employ them against an attacker, it was not martial arts, it was fairly much straight forward street fighting.
Ian Kinder of Live Safe Academy, started us slow, and picked up the tempo through the 4 and 1/2 hour course, good skills to have, and not at all hard to learn.
The following course was a learning few methods to defend against gun or knife attack, the defensive skills were a bit harder to learn, more so that they employed complex motor skills, rather than the gross motor skills, of offensive empty hands fighting, but if the attacker has gotten in close, and your choices are limited, going after his weapon, and disabling him might work better than trying to get yours out. I'll have to admit 9 hours of of physcial training wore me out, but I picked up a few things.
Col Joseph "Little Joe" Ferrera gave an excellent presentation on Combat Stress, and how making decisions before the event can affect the outcome of the event. It is a matter of when not if, and having a plan, and a backup plan to fall back to.
David Arnold, a Cleveland lawyer also had a presentation on the aspects of the law regarding use of force, and concealed carry.
The Warrior-Summit was great training for anyone that has a CCW license and carries a gun, I have seen to many that think that the gun is all they need to protect themslves, but that is a false hood. Shooting a piece of paper at 7 yards is not the same a living breathing human agressor in your face.
Paul Carlson & Chris Archer of the Safety Solutions Academy did a great job of putting the event together, and they are planning future events.
