Well while I was still doing the 9-5 bit, I'd leave a bit early & stop at Lowes or Home Depot on the way to work, & pick up things I could haul in the car, they were both pretty much on the way to work.
But now, the 2 closest Lowes are both 25 miles away South Dayton, or Richmond Indiana.
So Black Friday we trooped up to Richmond & found a 3rd one Menards, I was surprised how much lower the prices were, but then I'm not sure how much I may have saved, making trips there when the others were on the way.
But now it does not make a lot of difference I'll likely be picking up the rest of what I need in Richmond.
It is pretty amazing what one can haul in a Crown Vic. For the interior of the building I have hauled all the framing lumber, Insulation bales, really everything except the drywall, which we had delivered. (A friend offered his truck, but for only $25 the Local Carter's brought it which also meant we only had to unload the truck)
Of course it's always amazing anything you pick up ahead of time because you know you are going to use it, has to be moved 50 billzillon times, because no matter where you put it, it's got to in the way
The last large item I need is a 5 foot sink base for the kitchenette, & which I could likely figure a way to haul it, I'll take the friend up on his offer to haul it for me.
Bear with me a couple of more weeks till this project is done, & we will get back to shooting & self Defense

Saturday we had 11 ccw students, & 3 Instructors, so the old classroom was crowded to say the least, the weather was not real great ether, but we got everyone through it
Sunday we had 2 ccw students & 2 Instructors, it was more comfortable on the range & in the classroom.
Monday worked on the new classroom, hanging drywall, the ceilings are done except for the storage closet.
Will be doing walls today so we can get the base board heaters in, but we can already tell a difference between the classroom & the garage sides of the building.

Well RIP S: 9/8/1981 E: 11/21/2008
That's a long time at one place, been through 3 different owners in an ever shrinking career field.
Although I thought it would last into retirement, the last 2 years have been hellish. It was to the point of dread every morning. The day's were a mentally exhausting, & seemed to suck the life out of me. All of the competition in the area has gone by the wayside, so I will continue down the path I started 5 years ago & that is training people for concealed carry & personal protection, (until Obama bans it) I suppose the real bummer was it was on their terms & not mine.
The new classroom is going to be done in a couple of weeks & the range expansion will hopefully be done before winter sets in. I have some reserves, so we will try fulltime training, & see where it leads.
Life is a highway, lets see where we are going, it may be one heck of an adventure!

with the building.....
The Drywall arrived Tuesday, & by the time we unloaded & carried all in, we didn't get a lot done, I'm sure it would be a lot easier if it were warmer, & there is no heat hooked up yet.
I have been running insulation & a friend has been helping with getting the drywall up, but it's nether going smoothly of as fast as I'd like, of course it does not take long to over run where I have not put the pink stuff. Last night the first couple of sheets went pretty well, but when we moved across the room we had not calulated the 1 3/4 inch band beam, it turned into a comedy of errors, I told Jim I was tired when I started, & now I was tried & flustrated, so it was time to stop. I get on it tonight, & I'll have all day tomorrow, but we have 12 hour classes back to back Saturday & Sunday, & the panel lifter has to go back Monday night. I'm sure we will make it ok,
but keeping the fingers crossed.

All the interior framing is done, the plumbing is roughed in, & the wiring is in place, & insulation has begun (itchy), hopefully Sunday, Monday evening & Tuesday I can finish that, & Tuesday afternoon the drywall will be delivered.
I'll be really glad when this project is done, I really tried to get this done last April-May, but everybody around here was booked up, the colder weather just adds to the excitement & planning. We will have to warm it up to do the drywall & paint.
I normally check the local news but didn't this morning, H/T to David Codrea

Barack Obama Resigning Senate Seat
He is calling his four-year term "one of the highest honors and privileges" of his life.
Lets see elected Nov 2006, took office Jan 2007, & started running for President in April of 2007 , how the heck is that 4 years??
I stand corrected "Except all of your basic facts are wrong. Barack was elected to the Senate in 2004, and he took office in 2005. " per Bitter
Of course I've heard was only there 143 days before he made his run for the Prez, so his work record is worst than I thought.
This election may have been a set back, but after gun owners get burned by Bahama, they may well lick their wounds, & learn that politicians lie. You will find the NRA stronger in 2010.

A Nice Blue Souvenir? NYT's Big Election Map Doesn't Show Actual Results The Times published a big blue map on the front page of its special election section -- but it's not a map of the 2008 results. It just shows the relative shift toward the Democrat, not that the Democrat actually won those counties.

Okay, it’s probably a small thing to quibble about, but does everybody remember the impressive county-by-county election map that the New York Times published after the 2004 election, showing the United States as a sea of Republican red, with a few Democratic blue counties clustered on the coasts and a few urban pockets?
Well, today’s New York Times has a large map of the U.S. showing county-by-county election results as a sea of Democratic blue, with red areas limited to a few southern states, Arizona and Alaska. It looks like a Democratic landslide.
But Barack Obama did not actually win states like Utah, Montana, Idaho, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, South Carolina, etc., that this map shows as mostly or totally blue. What the New York Times published this year is a map showing the shift in a county’s vote from 2004, not the results. So if a Republican county voted for Bush by 12 points in 2004, but only gave McCain a seven-point advantage this year, the Times paints it as blue, not red.
The big blue map consumes the entire top half of the front page of the Times special election section of today’s paper. On pages P10 and P11, the Times has several more maps illustrating the election results, including a small county-by-county map that shows that, just like in 2004, most of the land mass of the U.S. is in “red” counties.
The Washington Post has a county-by-county results map that looks a lot like the map from 2004, although there is clearly a little more blue this year and the red is a little lighter.
There’s no disputing that Obama won on Tuesday, but the big blue map published by New York Times seems like a way to overstate the magnitude of the Democratic victory -- maybe just to give liberals a nice blue souvenir to hang in their office cubicles, or maybe a subliminal way of pushing the idea of a huge mandate for liberal government.

I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightning.
I see bad times today.
Funny seems truer now than it did then, but I guess I didn't have as much of a vested interest then.

Know any gun owners that voted for bahama??
Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn’t have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

Any gunowner that voted for this tinpot should have this rubbed in their face.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist dictatorship.

I have been really busy with the interior of the building, well really Dana is doing most of the work I just have been going & getting building supplies.
But I have gotten the basement entrance sealed up & just have to finish the plumbing run for the building in the crawlspace & connect to the well pump.
But did a quick count last night,
I do have 3 stripped AR lowers, I also have an assembled lower but I'll give that to Dana for the work he is doing. I have several assembled rifles. I counted at least 85 30 rd mags, & another 20 or so 20 rounders. I have around 10k in 223 ammo.
There were at least 70 13 round browning mags
Likely 25 for the XD pistols (Although several are 10 rounders, a guy was at the gunshow selling them for $8.50 ea, verus $25 for the hi caps) & another 20 for the Sigs
I had only four mags for the mini-14 so I ordered four more
Just remembered the M1 carbine I'll have to see about mags for it but think I'm in decent shape
A good # of 1911 mags, & have 9 for the 1911 Gun-Blog 9
Yeah the M&P 9mm has 6 mags but I like to have 10 for each handgun
Thursday, November 06, 2008
Seen a few posts about get them while you can you know.., Hi cap mags Tactical type rifles etc. Before Banana takes office & gets a ban.
Not that I'm in need of much, I really ramped things up in 1992 when Slick Willie was elected, & have continued to add to what I have on a fairly steady basis.
But I did some checking around the web & places are out of stock on a lot of things, Aim Surplus had like 4 or 5 different AR15 lowers a couple of days ago, but today they are out of stock on everything.
The only thing I could use would be a couple of more mags for the M&P 9mm, but most everything else I have of plenty of magazines.

So fellow gun owners get ready for the fight of your lives! "The One" is more anti gun than Clinton ever thought about being, so when you are getting your free pie, send what you saved to the NRA, GOA, JPFO, or the SAF.
Lets see I predict an extremely high ammo tax,
Oh yeah you have the right to keep & bear arms, but it says nothing about ammunition, the UN called that one in July of 2006
Not only did you let the "Enlightened One" accend to the Whitehouse
You also decided that poor peoples loans should be montored by the government, & the pay day loan places may well close & lay off they say up to 5000.
Ohio you also took the moral high ground & kept that evil casino out of Ohio. Since DHL is closing & laying off 6000-8000 people which will add more bodies by the fact that 6-8 thousand people are not buying anything.
So all in all, the dog is walking with crossed legs this morning.
*not really, & no whining if you get caught in the lay offs

During this political season let's be reminded of these wise words. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people' s initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. ....
