I had a lithotrypsy procedure (intense ultrasound shatters kidney stones and turns 'em to harmless sand). When I went in to the hospital, the nurse who admitted me asked me the standard questions, like:
"Why are you here?"
"Kidney stones."
She winced.
"I had kidney stones once, and the pain was worse than either of my deliveries."
So there you go: kidney stone pain is worse than childbirth.

Yeah, I know I've had them on & off for 20+ years. But the last time was about 9 years ago. They don't get any easier. But it seems better today!!
