I fully agree, if you want to write and speak your native language, go home.

NJ requires CMP rifles be shipped to FFL's
Although CMP has a number of requirements including a Federal BG check, that's not good enough for the state of New Jersey, just another example of passing hollow regs that only affect the law abiding citizen.

Assault Knife Attack!!
This time 28 victims!
When will laws be passed to ban them, everyone knows knives were devised for just one thing and that is of killing, They do not run out of ammo, and they do not jam. Assault knives cause people to act violently. All knives should be regulated, and anything over 3/4's of an inch should be banned or licensed. They are silent, and kill with every strike. spray thrusting leads to high victim counts, as one cannot miss with an assault knife. They are easy to hide, some even fold, and easy to acquire, through the knife show loop hole, one can purchase an Assault knife without a background check.
Assault Knife Assault!
Another
And Another one
And another one
It even affects Canadians
All in the last 24 hours!!
Assault knifes can be described as having a thingy that goes in the hand, and they are usually pointed, and have one or more sharpened edges. Some have a feature called a "skull crusher" many of the folding ones , very easy to conceal, have locking blades, to protect the attacker. Some types have "Assisted Opening" so the attacker can attack faster. Some also have a feature called a "Guard' that allow for deeper stabs. They are capable of both stabbing, and slashing.

ILEETA: Force Panel Debates Point Shooting vs. Aimed Fire
Argued about as much as 9 mm VS 45 Auto, Open VS Concealed.
But to understand point shooting one needs to understand how it really works, it is offen taught incorrectly, Rex Applegate picked it up from Fairbairn
I've seen what Robin Brownie Brown's students can do and its pretty amazing
It's not one or the other, and student of the craft should learn both

Drug Enforcement leads to violence
So law enforcement is the cause of all the killing south of the border, and not the rumored "gun show loophole"?

Yeah,.. tougher laws will fix it
Some of us can't stand guns and never want to use them. But we want the ex-marine on the subway to have one, just in case the creepy guy sitting next to us tries anything.
Yeah make what is illegal, more illegal that will sure stop them
Maybe we should start calling Chicago, "Little England", they may want to pass tougher knife laws too.

Pennies to improve your trigger control
While I am not a fan of shooting "The Reset" as fine motor skills are one of the first thing to go in a fight, it does teach trigger control, use to do it with quarters on round barrel revolvers.

Law enforcement gets requests for firearm safety classes
class participants are expected to learn, the law, basic safety, and basic shooting skills, but most important thing law enforcers teach in these classes is not to take the law into your own hands.
It's not that they want to take the law into their hands, it's more they don't want to be a statistic

Don't exploit tragedy to pass gun bill
Tragedies happen, it’s a sad and undeniable truth of the world in which we live. Nevertheless, passing bad legislation because of the emotional anguish a few citizens have to suffer through at the hands of murderers is not the answer.

He should be charged with negligence
3-year-old Kalli got her hands on a .40-caliber pistol and shot herself.
If you cannot keep a firearm out of reach of a 3 year old, you shouldn't own one, cop or not.
I'm sure he is devastated with the loss of his child, but he is the adult, and he should have kept better control of his weapon.
If you have small children, there are any number of products that secure the weapon, yet make it readily available if needed.
When I had small children living with me, I had 2 house guns, an old Hi Standard 12 gauge pump with a magazine lock out (When the lever was flipped you could cycle the gun, and pull the trigger all you wanted, and it wouldn't load) I kept a Browning HP unloaded, but cocked and locked, in a drawer by the bed, with the loaded magazine in a separate drawer. Even if they found both, they not only had too insert the mag, but also push the safety off, and rack it to get a round in it.
I also educated them, I took them to the range, and shot milk jugs full of water, with the 12 gauge, exploded warm cans of pop, and cantaloupe with the 9mm. I still remember the wide eyed look on their faces when I held the melon up, and explained thats what could happen to them if they played with guns. Sometimes a bit of fear, is the first step in respect. But at 4 and 6 they wouldn't touch a firearm without asking first.

Well I for one am looking forward to it!

Perfect day for the March on Washington DC
The Concord Hymn Ralph Waldo Emerson (1837)
By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled;
Here once the embattled farmers stood;
And fired the shot heard round the world.
The foe long since in silence slept;
A like the conqueror silent sleeps,
And Time the ruined bridge has swept
Down the dark stream that seaward creeps.
On this green bank, by this soft stream,
We place with joy a votive stone,
That memory may their deeds redeem,
When, like our sires, our sons are gone.
O Thou who made those heroes dare
To die, and leave their children free, --
Bid Time and Nature gently spare
The shaft we raised to them and Thee.

This Garand is a Springfield Armory, from SOG, not sure what country it was imported from, it was $440 (handpicked) picked up a new buttstock at the gun show this week end so for $525 total not bad, and the bore is still in good shape, and the SN indicates it was built between 1955, and 1957.

Police officers were unable to catch the dog. The dog latched onto Johnson's left hand and wouldn't let go. Pohlman shot him with a Taser. When that had no effect, he placed a 9mm pistol against the dog's torso and pulled the trigger. The dog didn't release his bite until the third and fatal shot

Charter Arms Rimless
I've kinda of been awaiting these to be released, but there is the concern for quality, as the last few Charter Pistols that have come through class have been of poor quality, the last one we had in class the cylinder kept sliding forward in the frame, and would not fire, the student sent it back to Charter, and it was returned in the same condition that it was when he sent it in.
These are the same people marketing the Chiappa 1911, that has the 20 lb trigger pull, so it might be best if I don't get my hopes up.

"Cats and Dogs Are Household Hazards"
Cats never run beside you always directly in front, then they stop a lot to make sure you are still behind them, like little moving stumble blocks, and well dogs are dogs, and sometimes they get in front, and sometimes they push you out of their way, we needed a study to find all this out?

Paul Helmke is sad this week
Paul lets get one thing straight, for Columbine, those punks violated about 23 laws before they ever entered the school, so I'm pretty dam sure a couple of more would not have stopped them, and as to VT, the system was in place, to report the shooters mental problems well before anything bad happened, but no one did what they were suppose to do, so there was nothing to stop him. From the judge, to the professors, they ignored the problem, don't blame Glock.
If I go out in the country build a pen, and fill it full of sheep, and post signs, that say "No Wolves Allowed", and get the government to pass a laws that make wolves killing sheep illegal, when I come back in a week will I still have sheep?, or would I perhaps leave some sheepdogs with the flock, would I have a better chance, at finding my flock alive?

Pentagon to adopt uniform rules on guns
The new policy is expected to mirror restrictions already in place at some military installations that, for example, require guns brought onto a base to be registered with military police.
Yeah.....Like that is going to work, or would have prevented what happen at Ft Hood

According to David Corn
We are dangerous extremists
Put this all together -- saber rattling, militia fomenting, demonizing government -- and you have a brew of far-right paranoia mixed with guns. When have we seen this before? Oh yeah, Timothy McVeigh and the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. And here's the kicker: this pro-gun march will happen on the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma tragedy. This is not insensitivity; it's a message.
It is also the 135th anniversary of:
"By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled;
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard 'round the world."
Perhaps for Mr. Corn anyone who might stand up for their constitutional rights, is an extremist.
2nd amendment activists are not anti-government, they are pro Constitution, they are simply asking the elected government officials do what they swore they would do and that is up hold the Constitution of the United States of America

Returning ice - after years of declining cover - has astonished climate scientists who blamed unusually cold weather over the Bering Sea.

The FONRA have dinners all over, and there are plenty of prizes, including firearms, and half the money is given in grants to clubs for youth events, range improvement, etc
"Since its inception in 1992, Friends of NRA has held over 12,000 events, reached over two million attendees and raised over $140 million for The NRA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Each year, The NRA Foundation allocates half of all net proceeds to fund projects within the state in which the money was raised and uses the other half to fund similar projects with a national scope."

Thomas Jefferson was born
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson

You should never assume a firearm is unloaded, they are all loaded, until you have physically checked them, and even after you have confirmed they are unloaded you do not point them at other people, and drinking and firearms do not mix well ether. You should also keep your finger off the trigger.

Joke of the Day:
Administration Follies
For those who have never traveled to the great West, cattle guards arehorizontal steel rails placed at fence openings on highways to preventcattle from crossing. For some reason the bovines will not step on theguards, probably because they fear getting their feet caught between therails. We need to make that clear in order for everyone to appreciate thefollowing story.
President Obama received a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado. Because Colorado ranchers protested his proposed changes in grazing policies; he ordered Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar to fire half of the guards immediately.
Before Salazar could respond, and presumably straighten him out, California’s congresswoman Nancy Pelosi intervened with a request that before any were fired they be given six months of retraining. And these people run our nation???

Gangs Down Under
The fiercely territorial clans are spurred on by American gang culture and are at constant war on our streets with other gangs.
Response by Law Enforcement:
"There is no evidence of the existence of any organised indigenous criminal gang structures,"
"Anyone with any information of the existence of any such illegal activity should be contacting police so they can investigate."
(maybe if we ignore it, it will go away?)

Gun Rights Policy Conference
Great Conference lousy city
I have to agree with Tam here and here, and with Uncle
While there will be a lot of fights in Cali to try to reinstate peoples god given rights, I'm not going to spend money there, period. Just like here if a business posts a "No Guns" sign, I stop doing business with them. California has pretty much put the sign at the state border.
It is a great conference I attended the one in Cincinnati in 07,( it was really slightly south in the Blugrass State) and when its back in the area I'll attend it again.

22 range session yesterday
Chiappa 1911- Getting it to hit, but after 200 round the finger couldn't pull the trigger, I think if it had even a decent trigger it would be fairly accurate.
Sig Mosquito- Lot of failures to fire, and eject, not as accurate as I would expect a Sig to be.
Browning Buckmark-As expected very accurate, only a couple of failures, fun
S&W 22A-1- Boring, very accurate, easy to shoot
I had high hopes for Chiappa, as a training gun for my 1911, but the trigger pull is extremely hard. (None of my double action wheel Guns are that hard or heavy). I would have been money ahead to have bought a conversion kit, and likely happier.
I had the same hope for the Sig, but it is so picky about what it will shoot, other than being good for malfunction drills, it is about useless. 6 inch groups at 7 yards are not what I expect out of a Sig.
The Buckmark was a used purchase, to add to the guns for student use, it ran as expected, and was a $100 less than I paid for the Sig (which I bought used)
The Smith was the least expensive of the 4 guns, but it was also the most reliable, and the most accurate of the 4, Saturday during class we did have a magazine floor plate blow out of one of the Smith mags, the plastic floor plate broke. The only thing I do not like about the Smith is the location of the mag release, being in the front of the grip
The Ammo was the Remington "Golden Bullet"

Just From Wednesday to Sunday
More than 40 people have been shot, and at least five killed, during a rash of violence in Chicago.
Chicago had 19 homicides in March of 2009, and 27 in March of 2010 isn't that like a 42% increase?
All in a city that bans handguns

I don't listen to ether one
President Obama called out Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh as purveyors of "vitriol" - creating a climate in which he's called a "socialist" and even a "Nazi."
I still think he's, ummmm, ineffective......

First it was Joe the Camel
now its Ronald McDonald:
"Ronald McDonald may wear a big smile, but his boots are steel-tipped," said Raj Patol, a visiting scholar at the University of California-Berkeley.
"McDonald's is really skirting on treacherous legal ground when they target children as young as 3 years old, as Ronald the clown clearly does," said Michele Simon with the Marin Institute.
I suppose it is a liberal mindset that inanimate objects, and imaginary people make us do things, against our will, ya know like Glocks cause homicides

Booger Hook
Nearly every new holster has directions to first try the holster with an empty gun, of course if you can't seem to remember the basic rules of gun safety and leave your booger hook off the bang switch, these things happen
Remember and practice the basic rules of Gun Safety, they are not suggestions, and read the directions

More on that Gun Show Loophole
Armored vehicles, explosive devices and grenade launchers were among the items the military seized.
The cartels, however, do match Mexico's military in firepower: Soldiers confiscated more than 50 assault rifles, 61 grenades and eight homemade explosive devices, as well as grenade launchers and six armored vehicles.

This is why there is no such thing as “good enough.”
Without being extremely well trained, tested, and having your true performance validated on a regular basis, you cannot know that really are “good enough.” Unless you have an incredibly strong sense of what you can do under real-world gunfight or use-of-force conditions, you really don’t know where you are in terms of skill and ability.
