People would actually save money and a lot of frustration, if they spent a little of the money they waste on ammo, and get some proper training
Last weekend had a new shooter, fire his new Glock for the first time, but he had found a fellow NRA Instructor, who gave him a couple of short range lessons, then referred him to me for his CCW. With the proper start this guy was drilling the targets, he aced the 30 round qualifier, and one target had a one hole 4 shot group, out of 6. Yeah you can teach yourself, but ammo is expensive, and learning from the get go, will really likely save you money in the long run.
