So they say.....

The media seems to say we are turning the corner, and the economy is getting better, they point to Wall Street, but the only reason that has been going up, is the dollar is worth less. I highly doubt the dollar is going to get any better anytime soon.

As Americans we for the most part take things for granted, things like food at grocery stores, lights when we flip a switch, heat when we nudge the thermostat, gas at the gas station. True there are shortages from time to time of this or that, but we get by.

When things have gotten bad the Government steps in and fixes it, but those times are changing. The Government is under water or soon will be, and those that are prepared will weather the storm better than those who think it will be status quo.

You WILL be on your own, and it could last a long time, how prepared are you?
3 days?, a week? a month? a year? without going to the store?

As I said yesterday it's more than just guns and bullets

Figuring out your needs will not be simple, it depends on where you live and the size of your family. If your a family of 5 in North Dakota it's going to take more prep, than a couple in South Carolina. Likely easier for someone who lives in the country versus an apartment dweller in a city.
Start now, start here or here to get ideas get a move on invest in your future.

Are you going to stay where you are? or are you going to BUG out to another location? Can you pre-stage some of stuff, or will you need to take it all with you when you go? No sense amassing more than you can haul. Got enough fuel to get there?

I'd say plan for at least 3 months, longer would be better.
At the very least, items to address:
1. Food and water
2. Shelter
3. Protection
4. Medical

Prepare for the worst, pray for the best, maybe this house of cards will hold together, but if it falls the more you have done to get ready, the better you will weather the storm.
