Prepared to protect his country

The captain proposed to provide his battalion with at least a few machine guns. He acquired and repaired nine of them. Then he stored them in a concrete safe at his place of business in Nashville.

His intent was to protect his fellow guardsmen, & his country, sounds American as can be, but the powers that be do not want people who are motivated, who can think on their own, who will take action, who will be prepared.
